I got my CPR in October 2014 and have to travel to Canada in June 2015. The thing is I want to go but am not allowed to stay away from my job for more than 2 months. How long do I have to stay upon initial entry to get my PR card to travel?

Hi

Technically you can take the next flight home. Just leave a Canadian address of a friend so that the PR card/s can be sent there and your friend can courier them back to you.

Personally when a landed a while ago, I stayed in Canada for about 6 weeks. That was the good old days when newly landed immigrants can get their first issue PR card in about 4 to 6 weeks. I do not know how long that takes now.

Just a note....it gets complicated if your photographs are rejected due to incorrect format etc. Please ensure that all photographs are to the specs stated in your landing documents.

Good Luck

Fred
