So, let in at the border with 'PR' written in passport on the Canada stamp despite not meeting required days. Man at border gave me a piece of paper saying 'compassionate grounds' and tells me I may not need lawyer. It felt like he was letting me by, doing me a favour .So I believe to be PR, but without card, card was lost a long time ago and is now expired. I've seen advice written on forums to stay put for 2 years, apply for healthcare and driving licence via landing card, and continue to work legally until I apply (having been here for 2 years). I fully intend to finish immigration process, there is no better place for me than Canada.
