Hi, my PR application is in process (arranged employment, 1.5 years skilled work experience), they received my medical and 3 months ago I sent, after being asked, all my criminal record certificates. Because of constant delays made by my employer I did not receive my PR until 2 weeks before my work permit expired. I applied the same day for a work permit extension but it might take from 52 to 82 days.

Now my employer says that if my permit is not ready soon, he will have to get someone else and I will loose my job :o. The option he gives me to prevent this is to work under the table, but I refused since I have a serious pending process with immigration Canada.

Will losing my job now affect my PR process? After reading in the papers the case of these poor Polish workers I feel in a hopeless and abusive situation. :(

Thanks!

Ok for all interested brothers in immigration! it seems that for my category (skilled worker, arranged employment) if I don't keep my job, even though my process is quite advanced I will be at serious risk of loosing everything. So I'll have to reason in a friendly way with my boss :P could be worst.

So my advice for people in my same situation is to be patient and even if there is challenges and abuse in the way we have to keep in mind the goal of staying in this not perfect but in the end wonderful and full of opportunities place. A place that for many like me has given us an adoptive family and many happy moments. Don't let a few ruin your view of this blessed nation!

Good luck to all and best wishes! ;D
