Hello,
I received my Canadian Permanent Resident Card last month, through the Quebec Investor Program. While in the process, somebody told me that permanent residents from the QIIP do not have the same residency obligations and keep their PR status indefinitely (regardless of whether or not they stay in Canada for 2 in every 5 years).
Does anyone know if this is accurate or not?

Thank you!

"Someone" is wrong. QIIP immigrants have the same RO as anyone else.

Thank you very much for your answer! Judging from your post number etc you must know what you 're talking about ;)

I think based on what you have said this 'someone' has read too many posts and understood that even IF you don't meet the RO you continue to keep your PR until it is officially revoked. It does not exempt you from the need to keep your RO in good standing to continue to keep your PR in good standing.
