[PR Expiring] Need advise to move to Canada

We received Canada PR as part of Skilled Immigration in the year 2016 and valid till June 2021. We visited in the year 2016 to get the PR card, but at the same time got a job offer in US and moved to Seattle.

We are keen to move back to Canada at this time and settle. Since we haven't stayed in Canada for a period of 2 years(consecutive or non consecutive), is this a possibility?

- Can I get a job with the current PR as it is valid till June 2021?
- What happens once the PR expires?

Has anyone come across anything similar as we are planning to move to Vancouver in the month of June?

Thanks

Given you have not met the residency obligation there is a chance that on entry you may be reported leading to your PR status being revoked. If not reported you need to stay put for at least 2 years to reset your RO and not attempt to renew your Pr card until back in compliance.

If you have a SIN then sure you can get a job regardless of your PR card validity although some employers may ask to see it generally main purpose is for when travel outside of Canada and come back..

PR cards expire PR status never expires and can only be revoked or renounced.

The 5 years a,so start on your landing date. The expiry date of your PR card isn’t related to your RO. Really not an ideal time to move unless you have a job especially since you don’t meet your RO at the point.
