I had migrated to canada in 2012 where i stayed for a couple of months ,then i came back .now my pr expired in 2017 .Now if i want to return to canada , what should i do . Should i apply for renewal or should i apply afresh?
Your PR status does not expire, only your PR card. Having said that, you won't be able to travel directly to Canada with out a valid PR card. You would either need to apply for a PRTD (which would be refused unless you have significant H&C grounds) or enter at the US border (where you would likely be reported for RO). You can't apply to renew your PR card unless you are in Canada and you meet the RO requirement.
