PR CARD RENEWAL - For Spouse

Can someone please answer the below question:
1) Can spouse apply the PR card renewal on behalf of the applicant?

My wife has still valid PR status, however she is out of Canada and i will be travelling to Canada, if i can apply for the renewal, is this allowed?
