PR Card Renewal Delayed

We are in the US and have applied for PR card renewal, here are the updates so far:

Permanent Resident Card

1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on November 9, 2020.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on January 8, 2021.
3. We started processing your application on January 8, 2021.

When can we expect to get the cards? Will IRCC send the cards to our attorney in Toronto?

Were you in Canada when you applied? How many days in Canada did you have when you applied? How many days have you been in Canada in the past 5 years? Are you living in the US?

Why is it being delayed so much?

Assume they have close to 1095 days and they will likely be required to pick up the PRCard in person. It is also unclear whether they applied from Canada,
