How long does it "usually" take to get your pr card after you officially land? How is it delivered? Canada Post?

Cards are delivered via regular mail. Processing times fluctuate regularly and current processing times can be found here:

Right now it's 57 days (without mailing times).

The posted times don't include mailing times. So the processing times themselves won't be impacted.

Delivery will be impacted. But again, delivery time isn't included in the times posted on the CIC site.

Correct. I just meant the time until it gets into peoples' hands. Hopefully no lengthy delay!

For us it was 41 days when he landed...still nothing...@ 59 days we were told that it was sent to the American address...I have no idea why of it that is the case...but its July 4th and nothing...

I am also reading that may ask for proof of address.

I am a US citizen and have been staying in Ontario for the last 3 years with visitor extensions. Now, if they ask for proof of address, what are they looking for, my US address or where in Ontario I have been staying? The only proof of address for Ontario is my water and hydro bill.

it is not required to show proof of address when landing with Spousal pr, since it's assumed the PR has not had residency in canada yet. at landing, the cbsa officer will ask for a canadian address for the pr card application, cbsa will send in the application, and that is where the pr card *should* get mailed to. perhaps you're reading information about renewing PR cards, not initial pr cards.

PR Cards are only sent to an address in Canada. Whoever told you that it was mailed to an address in the U.S. was mistaken.

CIC told us in an email...have it in writing!!
