First of all...hi to everyone here
I have been living in BC for over 30 years and have led a fantastic life, albeit (life has its ups and downs) in February of this year, my Father back in England became very ill (major stroke) and I only had one thing on my mind, and that was to pick up my child and go back to be near him,for fear of the worst.
It is now July 1st "of all days" and I still have not been able to get back to Canada, to make things worse..my PR card has expired in May.

I applied for citizenship almost 3 years ago, and it has been ackknowledged and it is in its final stages for me to attend the "Ceremony" but now I have recieved a letter, needing my fingerprints, for confirmation as to who i am.it would seem that I need to do this in Canada.

I am really worried I am to lose all my status and my 30 years in Canada because of my situation.

any help would be very much appreciated.

P.S. am going through application for my daughter here in England (born in Burnaby) to become a UK citizen (mother and I not married) what a horrible experience this is.

1. As long as you have resided in Canada for 2 of the past 5 years, you PR status is still valid.
2. As a UK citizen, you could probably return to Canada without too much trouble, although the airline may not board you with a one way ticket. If you are worried about that, apply for a Travel Document in London CHC, it will cost you $50.00.

Really appreciate quick and good responses, have put my mind at ease somewhat.

Have been waiting patiently for almost three years now (citizenship) I certainly do not want to jeopodise that.
