Hi,

Is it possible to have the PR Card Delivered to an address outside the province that nominated you?

I was nominated in SK, now have the COPR, planning to book a short-stay there of 1-2 weeks, move back to my home country, stay 6 months, then go back to SK? All my close contacts are in BC which is why I want it delivered to their house and which they will send when they go back to my country...

It would not be advisable to try to give an address outside SK when you land. If an immigration officer suspects that you are not planning on settling in SK, they can refuse your landing and tell you to clear things up with the SK PNP office and your stay of 1-2 weeks will likely not suffice to clear that up.

It would be better to get yourself a UPS address in SK and give that to immigration when you land. You can either arrange it online before you land or you say to immigration when you land that you don't have an address yet, then get a UPS address in SK and then notify CIC about your new address. UPS will then forward your PR card to your current address outside Canada.

Thanks Leon.

No risk the card would be lost in that circumstance?

Sometimes they get lost even if you have them mailed to an address where you are a friend is staying.

If that happens, you still have a chance to return to Canada when you are ready by applying for a PR travel document.
