One of my friend's PR card has been expired some two months ago, he is in karachi. Now what should he do. Advice from seniors is requested. Regards

If your friend wish to return to Canada and don’t have a valid Permanent Resident Card, he/she will need to obtain a permanent resident travel document from a Canadian visa office abroad.

Unfortunately he will have to re-apply again if he didnt reside their for the required period in last 5 yrs, as he didnt fulfill the requirement his PR is expired and he wont be able to re-enter now unless get a new visa.

Cheers

If you are a permanent resident (PR) who is outside Canada and you are not in possession of a valid PR card to return to Canada you need a Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) to demonstrate that you are entitled to re-enter Canada as a permanent resident.

Please refer to below link.. related to your queries..

He has to submit NOW a new application for immigration, if his NOC is still there in the new current list of occupations.

Cheers..

that's one of the saddest things I heard today! poor guy. If it were me and I got it I would never leave Canada. Not for all the salt in the world.

sorry to hear that, but he have to apply again for Visa, the fact is daily the process and rules becomeing more harder,
i hope he is eligible to apply again..

all the best..

He has lost his right to his PR.

Frankly, why he ever applied in the first place, if he did not intend to make Canada his permanent residence, is beyond me. People are waiting for years to get PR and start contributing to Canada and make it their new home. Why PR's should be wasted on people like this makes me very angry.

I am sure that I will receive negative karma for this post but I cannot help what I feel. You want a new life in Canada, you pay huge amounts of money and spend time getting it and then you completely 'thumb your nose up' at Canada and do not live and work in the Country, you deserve to lose the privilege of being here.

Apply again, hopefully this time you will be turned down.

hay i understand what u feel, to be honest that also makes me sick to see people who got the pr and easinly lost it ( maybe we dont know their personal reasons ) but for me is so hard to imagin how they are losing the hard work, i applied 3 times and rejected and am trying again to see my file succeed , you will not know the value of PR unless u lose it, but now is so difficult to get it CIC will consider that you wasted their time for nothing, and if he is eligible then he can apply, but i wish him good luck..

rko....you are nicer than me......... :D

Getting your PR takes time and money and is a PRIVILEGE. I see so many people desperate to get to Canada and start a new life and contribute to society, that when I see someone mis-using that privilege it makes me angry.

Sorry if I sound harsh but when I read so many heartbreaking stories of failed PR applicants, I get a little madder at some of the injustices in this world.
