PR Canada - CEC - Open Work Permit

Hi,
If I submit my PR canada application for CEC on 1st or 2nd of Sep 2014 (Without my police clearance certificate) - When will I be able to get my file number. I am questioning this as I have my work permit and visa expiring by 31st oct 2014. My company is yet to decide if I can get my extension or not - So will I be able to get my file number and then eligible to apply for open work permit and get it before my expiry date -

Additionally my wife is on a visitor visa and her visa also expires on same 31st oct 2014.

Hi for AOR no one can predict any specific time line , but as per trend you should get in 5 -6 week (keep eye in your email spam folder also)

To be eligible for a bridging open work permit, you must follow below points, As its already sept and your WP is expiring on oct end , I highly doubt you would be eligible for BOWP.

• Currently be in Canada;
  Have valid status on a work permit that is due to expire within 4 months;
  Have received confirmation from CIC that your permanent resident application is eligible under one of the four economic classes (FSWP, CEC, PNP and FSTP), and;
  Have made an application for an open work permit.

Hi,

In case you don't receive your AOR before the expiry of your current work permit, I advise you to send a paper application for BOWP at least a week before the expiry of your current work permit.

The paper applications take about 45 days to process and hopefully you will receive the AOR before the visa officer starts assessing your BOWP application.

Since you would have applied for BOWP before the expiry of your current work permit you will be on implied status till a decision is made on your application and you can continue working with your current employer.
