Background:
I live in the US and my wife was living in Canada as an asylum claimant waiting for her PRRA decision. I had applied for her to come to US (spouse-visa), which was granted and she entered around late-FEB via the border (driving). Her family lawyer knew she was leaving but she did not inform her that she needed to close her asylum case and official exit. When we returned to Canada to visit her family, we came to find out that information. She communicated with the authorities, received an exclusion order, and officially exited Canada with a 1 year ban from returning.
I submitted the PR application on JAN 25, 2022. I received biometrics letter on MAR 29 and submitted it by APR 20. There were no updates until AUG 24, which is when I got an ADR (request) to submit an authorization to return to Canada (ARC) for my wife. Since we could not apply online, I submitted the documents along with a Temporary Resident Visa application through mail to the LA office by end of AUG. I also uploaded the packet to my PR application.
I have not received any communication since then. I know ARC can take a few months to be approved, if at all. Is there a way to get a status update on the ARC application?
Any other advice will be appreciated.
