PR application with a criminal charge history

Hi everyone, I have some questions regarding to PR application.

My spouse and I started immigration process last year and we successfully obtained our CSQ(Certificat de sélection du Québec) last May. However, after an unfortunate incident happened in July, I was charged for assault. But the charge was eventually dropped after three court dates. Our immigration application for the Federal stage has been holding off since then.

I was wondering if the fact that I was being arrested and charged will jeopardize the immigration process at the Federal stage.

I dont mean to be rude. But do you know it as a fact? Have you encountered cases like this before? Since I asked 10+ lawyers about this, most of them told me it would for the fact that I need to check the box where it asks whether being arrested or charged.

1. You have to state that you were charged, but you weren't convicted. So you don't have a criminal record.
