Hello,

The application requires a job offer that is a permanent position. I'm currently working as a contractor and the offer is one year duration. Do I have to get a permanent position to apply? There's a link for some certain job types that can be one year or more in duration, but that link is not working for me.

Thanks.

What kind of work permit do you hold? Has your employer obtained an approved LMIA?

I'm holding a post-graduation work permit. I don't think my employer has an approved LMIA, do I need to ask for one? Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes - your employer needs to obtain an approved LMIA for this to count as a job offer and for you to get the 50 job offer points.

I've met the points requirement and received an invitation to apply. I was talking about the job offer for applying for PR, the question mark on the documentation list indicates it requires a permanent job offer.

You should answer no.

You probably made a mistake in the questionnaire, most people are not aware of this. Your one year experience doesn’t apply as a job offer- it’s for people that are using LMIA. You can’t claim points for it, do the questionnaire again and remove the job offer thing, if your CRS is not up to the score chosen during the draw where you were invited, you have to decline the invitation and enter the pool again.

The job offer question is a two part question in the form. Did you answer yes to both of them. The second part is about the job offer being LMIA approved, did you answer yes to that?
