PR application got cancelled due to selecting Quebec as intended place to stay

Hello all,

My PR application was cancelled as I selected Quebec as my intended place of stay in Canada. Though I don't have any fixation to stay there and I am okay to settle elsewhere.
Has anyone else faced the same situation and what are my options now.

Your only option is to reapply selecting other province. You could say you selected Quebec by mistake.

You dropped the ball so you will have to reapply.

I have chosen Toronto. Would that be a problem?
I don't understand if it's Federal then why Quebec is issue.

Quebec has it's own immigration system. So they have more control over choosing their potential immigrants. It's all political.

As a PR you have freedom of movement so you can live anywhere but you're not a PR until you have completed the landing procedure. Hence, your application will be refused if you show any intention of living in Quebec or state your intentions to the CBSA officers during your landing in Quebec.

Safest option is to pick a different province, complete your landing, get your PR card and then move to Quebec

By reapply you mean creating fresh profile in EE and wait for the draw and fresh ITA right?

Isn't there anyway to reopen my old application , since CRS draw score is going higher these days and there will be considerable wait for fresh ITA

No, this cancellation was based on your mistake not IRCC's so you will have to create a new profile and wait for another ITA.

As already advised this is not a mistake from IRCC end. So you need to submit a new application, sorry.

Just be careful and do not show any intention of residing in Quebec even during your landing

450 now , it was same when ITA recieved.

Checking, I didn't see Quebec as an option during selection of intended province, is it different for application profiles ?
