Hi,

I had applied for my PR and open work permit under Live In Caregiver program. I have received my open work permit last year in May 2013 still awaiting my PR. I have a dependent daughter (minor 17 yrs of age) who is staying with my brother back in my country. Recently a letter was received by her requesting to send filled in Application form, along with Additional dependents and background declaration forms. Additionally they have requested birth certificate, passport and document to prove relationship with myself.

That being said, my daughter does not want to come to Canada right now. I am not sure how do I need to proceed with my application.

Questions:

1. Can I update my application and mention her as a non-accompanying dependent?
2. Would this impact my own application for PR?
3. What do I need to inform CIC and how?
4. How do I make sure that I could still sponsor my daughter in the future and that the doors do not close for her permanently?

I humbly request any help and guidance to move forward.

Thanking you for you help in advance.

1. She can be non accompanying, but she still has to prove the relationship and do the medical, if she wishes to be sponsored in the future. Note there is a chance that age of dependency may fall to 19 from 22
2. Has no impact on your application.
3. Amend your application, send copy to Vegreville and to the visa office processing your daughter's application.

Thank you PMM.

By amending my application are you suggesting me to write a letter to CIC - Vegreville and to send a copy to the CIC's office in my home country?

Warm Regards.
