Hello All,

I have a weird situation.

I live and work in Toronto and I had applied for my PR (FSW Express Entry) with my spouse (currently residing in India) as secondary applicant and accompanying dependent on 30th June 2018. I have received my PR on 30th Jan 2019 but she didn't receive any notice at all.

After repeated calls to CIC we were told that our application is approved but her app is waiting in New Delhi Visa Office. In spite of repeated CSE and emails to delhi office we didnt get any response. We were told by CIC Canada that they cant help as case is out of their hands and they have no authority to expedite app. So we just need to wait and watch.

Its been 5 months already and we are contemplating the idea to physically visit the office and ask for updates. The GCMS notes indicate an approved application without any complications at all.

What is the right approach going forward other than sitting idly.

Go to your local MP's office and ask them to help. A letter from them usually speeds things up, especially since you're right at the last stage and the visa office is slow.

You mean MP office in India where my spouse stays. I live in Toronto.

Ok so the path of action is I go to MP office in Toronto and request them to write a letter on behalf of me to CIC Canada to expedite the processing. Sounds reasonable I can do that.

However, I was told that CIC Canada has no jurisdiction over CIC India and they dont have the authority to expedite the processing in New Delhi India under any circumstances. I was told they are not allowed to do that. I was also told that my file is closed and her file is pending under Delhi's jurisdiction.
