Hi,

i am in Pakistan. I received PPR step 1 letter on 25th August. I sent the required updated information form, photographs and copies of passport on 26th.

As we in Pakistan can not send passports out of Pakistan, we need to go through step 1 and 2. Which takes more than 2 months. My medicals are about to expire in just under 3 months.

My questions are:

1. I just got UK student visa (yesterday). Is there any possibility that i may go to UK and submit passports there in person?

2. If yes, how long will it take (on average) to get visa stamped?

3. Will travelling to UK at this stage require any further documents/checks or delays?

4. Can i withdraw the amount from my bank (Proof of funds) at this stage? I have kept this amount in bank since July 2009. I plan to use this amount for my travel to UK expenses. When i get visas stamped. I will sell my property and will have the required amount as proof of funds when leaving for canada. Will they ask for proof of funds again (at step 2) when asking to submit passports?

Seniors please advise.

Thank you.

Khalid.

1. I think you should ask the CHC before sending the Step 1 documents that you can come to London for in person stamping.
2. They take 14 days to stamp by drop box in person at chc london
3. Dont know
4. I think you can withdraw the amount coz CHC Isb is not asking about the bank statement with Step 2.
May Allah help us all

Thanks.

No, you can't get the COPR (passport stamp) in London. Once the application is approved, the information is returned to Isbad who print the COPR.

I was given following direction in the PPR letter:

Dear Applicant,
Your application has reached the final stage of processing. Since Pakistani law does not permit the mailing of
Pakistani passports from Pakistan to other countries, we will not ask you to submit your passport to our office in
London. Due to limitations in our present computer system, the issuance of your permanent resident visa will be
a two step process.
Step 1: Follow the instructions in this letter to submit the requested items to our office in London. Once we have
reviewed them, we will send you instructions for the second step within 6 weeks.
Step 2: Do not submit your passport to our Islamabad office until you receive instructions to do so. The
Islamabad office cannot issue your visa before we instruct them to do so. (If you submit your passport early, it
will be returned to you without a visa.) The Islamabad office can only mail passports to addresses in Pakistan.
If you will want your passports returned to an address outside of Pakistan, then this letter does not apply to you.
Inform us immediately so that we can send you different instructions.

Hi brother!

If you want to get an in person stamping ,you can get it easily AFTER informing London Office. For applicants of London office residing outside Pakistan a different letter of instruction is issued which describes the whole process in detail[if you need I can email you my letter]

Regarding answers to your queries:

1)Yes if you have a valid visa for UK you can get your PPs stamped in person.

2)London says to collect PPs on alternate Thursday (after 2 weeks) but in 99.9% cases visas are stamped within 1 week of PP submission so if you are staying in London you can check on next Thursday[my PPs were submitted on 28th July and visa was stamped on my PP on 1st August, just after 3 days]

3)Well first of all be assured that carrying any other one's PP[including your family members]outside Pakistan is illegal ,but many people successfully do it as there is no other way out, especially if time is too short. No other docs will be required ,but to be on the safe side its better if you keep a letter of authorization written and signed by your wife to submit her PP at Lonson office,in case if they need it,but in most of the cases its not required.

4) Yes you can withdraw the amount as after PPR you will not be asked for a bank statement, but obviously you will need them at the time of landing .Regarding requesting a POF at the time of PPR 2 ,I dont think so, but as I myself did not go through this process so I would recommend you to double check with other Pakistani applicants who received PPR 1 and PPR 2 .

Should you have any other questions in this regard, please let us know.

Good Luck!

No problem bro! you are always welcome.

Kindly PM me your email address so that I can send you my letter in the form of attachment.Though this is the same official letter which is send to every outside Pak applicant ,but still I recommend you to request London office to send you your instructions.

Well regarding POF there is no official link/source but I have never seen an applicant requested a POF after getting a PPR letter, however some visa offices request a POF at the time of PPR.But still I recommend you to contact Pakistani applicants @ PAKISTAN APPLICATION FORUM to be more sure.

Best Regards

Dear Khalid,

I think, You need to send your bank statement (showing the required amount) with the passports when they ask your passports for visa stamping. In my case they asked me to submit bank statement along with the passports, but my case was processed in Islamabad.

Good Luck

If I was you Ill leave the money in the bank cause its Settlement funds so its money you need to have available when you land in canada if you use it before your landing you don't have it and the proof of funds will be required when you land
