Hi all,

We finally got my PPR letter, still have a few questions:

Btw, we are CEC inland applicants and currently residing in Canada..

1) My wife gave birth here in Canada a few months ago. Our child is a Canadian citizen and already has a Canadian passport. Do I need to include his passport when I send the package to CIC?

2) Once we have the permanent residence visa, we're planning to land from the US. I was told that once we enter Canada as permanent residence, we cannot leave until we have a permanent residence card, is this true?

Thank you!!

1. No. Just send the baby's birth certificate via a CSE to report the change in your family composition. It's a procedural thing and no more paperwork will ne required.
2. Not true. You van leave in the same day.
Good luck!

Thank you, I see that there is the option of applying for a Permanent residence travel document.

The other option I'm considering is to exit Canada (after I have my PR visa) and go to my home country and from there I will be returning to Canada for my PR landing.

Is this allowed? I'm not sure if I read it somewhere, but I've always thought that because I am an inland applicant I should be landing from the US.

As an inland applicant, can I actually land from any country other than the US?

You can do this.

I have a similar case, where the birth certificate is not issued yet. Would proof of live birth from the hospital enough ?

Thank you
