I was married in the Philippines in December and I'm just getting all the paperwork together to submit our application for family class sponsorship.

I made a mistake when giving my fathers name and gave a middle name which he does not use, he doesn't actually have a middle name, yes a totally stupid mistake on my part and I don't know what i was thinking.

Since the incorrect middle name shows on the marriage certificate where there shouldn't be one, will this cause a problem with our application? Should we just go ahead with the application and see what happens? All the other information is correct.

And yes I feel really stupid right now.

I was freaking out about something similar the other day, I used my mother's maiden name which isn't her legal name anymore. Others assured me that this wouldn't invalidate the certificate, and that it would be fine.

I had no issues with the certificate at all. :)

Thanks :) So worried about every little thing and so mad at myself for making such a dumb mistake. I blame the heat!

Lol. I wish I had a heat problem :( Winter isn't over quick enough!

When I received my marriage certificate my father-in-law's name was spelled incorrectly as well as my profession. I had already waited about six weeks for it to arrive and it was the last document I needed to add to our application. I called CIC and they told me to submit the marriage certificate I had and to attach a note explaining that I would be able to provide the amended one when I received it if they required it.
