Greetings I'm new, and apologies if this question is repeated, but i cant seem to find right answer for this question,
i' would like to know if i am eligible for the post study Open work permit [meaning I'm not restricted to work under the field of my study] under the SPP Program, The course that I'm choosing is a 2 year diploma in contemporary music, [an associates or foundation level] my educational background is 10+2 and I'm preparing for the IELTS, it would very kind if someone can clear out my doubts regarding the same.

Thank you very much in advance
Ravi

It depends what school you're attending. Not all schools/programs qualify for a post graduate work permit.

like i said, "a diploma in contemporary music" from Humber college most probably. or any of the 42 colleges listed under the spp program.
need a better response than that. Thanx for the effort.

No need to be rude. I'm trying to help but you didn't provide enough information in your first post.

The diploma doesn't really matter. It's the school that makes the difference. You didn't include any school names in your orginal post - hence my inability to answer your question.

It does not matter if you apply via SPP or general.

Since the school is Humber - yes, you'll qualify for a PGWP. If you were planning on attending a private college, there's a decent change you might not qualify for a PGWP. LSBF is an example of a school where you wouldn't qualify for a PGWP.

scylla im am so sorry if you felt i was being rude, honestly that wasn't my intention, but thank you very much for the response, i have few more doubts if you dont mind me asking, so not all 42 colleges listed under the spp program will get me an PGWP? and its not actually just the PGWP i actually am looking for the open work permit, cause with a music program, i dont think i would have very many option to find work in the same field so just to be on the safer side i wanna have a back up plan, hence the Open work permit

Correct - not all of the colleges listed under the SPP program qualify for PGWP. As a general rule, if the college is public (Humber, Seneca, Centential) then a PGWP is granted. If the college is private then you may or may not qualify for a PGWP.

I don't understand your PGWP/open work permit question. A PGWP is effectively an open work permit.

yea see im new to those terms like "PGWP". what i first thought was pgwp is just for students who have finished a masters degree program like MBA etc. but now i know what that actually means. where can i find this list of colleges qualifying for the PGWP which are listed under the SPP program?
