I heard some time ago that there is a law that marriage should last for at least 2 years if couple gets a divorce within 2 years of landing in Canada he/she will not eligible for citizenship is it true?

Previous rules. Nobody asks these questions unless there are problems in their relationship already. If you are separated from your spouse you do have to update your relationship status. Misrepresenting your relationship status could lead to PR being cancelled.
