Hi Guys!

I was refused a student visa for Italy in 2017. Do I need to mention it on the form (under the Has XXX ever been refused a a visa or permit, denied entry or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country)? Will it have major negative remark on my application?

Thanks in Advance!

Congratulations on your ITA.

You must disclose all visa refusals in your application. It won't cause an issue. On the contrary, if you don't mention your refusal, you run the risk of being rejected and banned for 5 years for misrepresentation. Be honest and you will be fine.

well you shouldn't lie so if it asks you if you've been refused and you were, then you should state it.
it shouldn't have an effect.
