Good morning everyone. New member here. I'm an international student currently doing a thesis-based MSc.
I have finished all the requirements for my program, just need to defend the thesis. This summer I'm going to have an internship at Microsoft in the US for 12 weeks and then come back to Canada to finish my degree.
Would this internship will affect my eligibility for Post Graduation Work Permit? I am paying the tuition fee for the spring and summer term so technically I am still registered as full time still at my Uni. However, I will not be in Canada in this period and it will clearly show on my travel history. Would this raise eyebrows when I apply for PGWP in the future?
Additionally, my University allows something called "Leave of Absence" for students who do an internship like this. It will change my status from Full-time to On-leave. If I apply for a leave like this, would it affect my eligibility for PGWP? If possible, I don't want to pay the tuition fee for spring and summer term as it costs a few grands.
Hope to hear replies from you guys. Thank you in advance!
