Hi,

I graduated from Sheridan College and got my PGWP till June 2017. I have been doing a part time job since October (a month after I started college here) and after graduation in May, it has become a full time job.. ALMOST. I have been working everyday for 6-7 hours except on Tuesdays. So as said in the PR application, I need to have full time work experience (more than 30 hours a week) for qualify for an application for PR.

My parents have PR and my relatives are citizens.

I am right now applying for another job in my field.

My questions are:

1. What happens if I am unemployed for 2-3 weeks? How does that affect my PR application that I might start by next year? (I am thinking of getting a bridging/open work permit, till I apply and wait for my PR)
2. Are my chances of getting a PR good?
3. Is 27-28 hours okay for full time?
4. What can be done if it's not okay?
5. How can I extend my work permit and is the LIMA that I have to obtain from my employer difficult to get?

Thank guys.

1. You need to have 52 weeks of full time work (or the equivalent of 52 weeks of full time work) in order to apply for PR. Unless there's information you haven't provided, you won't qualify for an open work permit. You cannot apply for a bridging open work permit until after you have applied for PR.
2. Impossible for any of us to say.
3. No - it must be a minimum of 30 hours.
4. You need to work longer.
5. You need an approved LMIA from your employer to extend your work permit. Yes - LMIAs are difficult to get.
