Post Graduate work permit requirement ?

I am applying for a post graduate work permit, However i meet all the criterias except that fact that in my first year i took a semester off to look for other school as i was not doing well in school. SHould i explain the officer why I took the semester off. ( I was also on academic probabtion but the leave was voluntary as i wanted to change programs. I returned back to school after the summer and I am not graduted with BBA took me 5 years in total. Am i still eligible or what other permit should i apply for ? i really dont want to get rejected as i am only good in canada.

If you took a semester of you don't qualify, however officers can make exceptions based on the conditions if they feel it was reasonable. So you can only apply & hope for the best.

Well I was in school for 5 years and took a semester off in that 5 years as I was changing programs from environment science to business.now can I apply another type of visa ? Or my reason would be valid for an officer. I have also worked full time during the summers in Canada since 2013.
