You can move to Canada temporarily (not permanently) with a work permit.

So the first step is to determine if you qualify for a work permit. Typically you do not qualify for a work permit based on a job offer alone.

Where are you from / what passport do you hold?

I am from India with Indian Passport (obviously), and once I am in CA after an year or so can I apply for PR?

In that case you need both a job offer and an approved LMIA in order to qualify for a work permit.

Alright.. thanks for your valuable response. How much time it will take to get the application processed?

Thanks

The LMIA is something you employer must obtain. This will require a month of advertising - and then anywhere from a few weeks to four months for processing (I would plan on 2-4 months). You'll then have to factor in the additional time that will be required to process the work permit. I'm not sure what current processing times are for your area - but I would plan on anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

Ok, just checked with CICdotGCdotCA 2 months is the time period they are mentioning. Morover how much would be Compliance fee to be paid by Employer for LMIA?

Thanks
