Hi,
a friend of mine from the Philippines was in a common laws relationship and got her PR via family sponsorship process. Relationship broke down - condition 51 in place, no abuse. What are her options to remain in Canada as a PR?
I'm not sure if the breakdown of relationship was reported to CIC yet.

Deportation is a pretty extreme word, but...

It is entirely possible that she could lose her PR, for breaching Condition 51. The chances of this are unknown, but unless CIC has been informed of the breakdown of the relationship, the chances are probably pretty low, IMO.

CIC has been know to do random checks to see if couples with Condition 51 are still cohabiting together. I have no idea how CIC determines which couples are selected for these `surprise door knocks', but it does happen.

Lastly, I don't think that she needs to fear a real deportation, but if CIC/CBSA tells her to leave Canada, she should leave.

Thanks Ponga, +1!
