Hi all,

I have received PPR. Now waiting for COPR.

Does anyone know if one has to enter Canada through a port of entry directly located on the province of choice selected in the PR application?

For example, if I ticked that I wanted to go to Toronto in my PR application, can I actually land in Vancouver and stay in BC?

Thanks

Provided that your immigration pathway isn't a restrictive Provincial Nomination Program that will seek to punish you for living in a different province, you can land anywhere (except Quebec, though you could land there with proof of intent to settle elsewhere) and live anywhere.

Thanks!

So basically even if I land in Ontario, I cannot relocate to Quebec? What is the requirement before being able to relocate to QC? Do we have to live a certain number of years in other provinces?

You're interested in Vancouver, I thought.

You can't land and make initial residence in Quebec without going through Quebec's immigration procedures. That involves a CSQ (Quebec Selection Certificate) and other procedures.

Once you're a PR and landed in Canada, though, you have the same rights as any other Canadian to move to Quebec.

Sounds good thanks!

Yea I'd like to go to Vancouver though Montreal would be a hell of a lot easier for me from a professional perspective and a social standpoint (I have good friends there).
