port of entry while visiting

Calling my spouse on visitor from Europe, then planing to apply sponsorship within Canada.
Any advise on, what to mention at POE regarding the entry? (tourist or visiting spouse?)

You stated previously that your wife is British. If so, DO NOT APPLY INLAND. You should apply outland. Your spouse can be in Canada while an outland app is processed.

Pay the $1040 sponsorship fees now. When you wife enters, she can say that she is coming to visit her Canadian spouse and that you will be sponsoring her, showing the fee receipt as proof.

What should i answer ?? My wife is with me in visitor visa( she has 10 year multiple entry visa ) am going to cross US border for extension.

Anyone in Canada who applied for Outland please answer me
