Port of Entry Question

My institution is in Toronto, Ontario and the semester starts in September. Would it be okay for me to arrive in Vancouver as my port of entry ahead of time, say in July, and stay there with family and friends until closer to the start of my semester in Toronto?

Would it be an issue with the border officials if my college is in Toronto and I arrive in Vancouver ahead of time? Would there be any concerns with the issuance of my study permit in Vancouver, despite my college being in Toronto?

Anyone have any experience of anything similar?

i don't think so,

if they ask why are you in vancouver just explain them the scenario and may be keep a invitation letter from your family ready with you if they ask .

if you have booked your tickets from vancouver to toronto keep that handy as well.
