Hi, I've been accepted into two of the top 10 MBA programs in Canada and will be initiating my student permit application process soon. I had a major concern regarding the same so I figured I'd ask here.

I got extremely sick a couple of years ago and I also had some backlogs. Overall, due to both the reasons, I graduated two years late with a very low GPA. I have proper medical certificates and, as of now, I have 4 years of work experience in finance and I did manage to get into the universities of my choice. But I'm not sure if this is something that may lead to student permit rejection.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Yes a low GPA may be an issue but include your GMAT scores because they will show strong academics. Include why your score is low in your SOP.

if you got into top 2 schools then you must have a good enough profile

@Impatient Dankaroo @Naturgrl Hi, except for the late graduation I have a good profile. Decent job, certifications, and extra-curriculars. I'm mainly concerned about the late graduation, especially since visa rejection rates have gone up in the recent years. Wasn't sure if this was something that could be justified well in the SOP, hence the post. Thanks for your inputs.

You cannot have that low of a GPA if you got into a good MBA school and have strong GMAT scores. Late graduation is not an issue.
