Hi,
I'm an international student, I want to renew my student visa ( I already have a valid studypermit) but I am afraid that my visa might be rejected since my grades for the winter term were bad. I took five courses and I got D, D, F, C and B-. It was my first term in university and my circumstances were bad and that's why I didn't do well. I am placed on probation and wondering what am I supposed to do to successfully renew my visa and return to canada to continue my studies. Does writing a LOE and explaining the reasons I did poorly is helpful? Any advice will be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Poor academic performance may affect visa extension. But it definitely does not affects visa extinction.

Do you see what I mean and why you are scoring less in your academics.

No issue, that is normal part of studies. Of you get suspended and miss semesters there can be problems with PGWP but not visa/study permit as long as you are making active effort in studies.

My apologies if I sound rude. Sometime in life you need someone to shake you up and bring you back on track :)

Now you will be fine and you have a great life ahead.

Contact your program advisor, they are best person to guide you because they come across such cases on daily basis. They will surely help you out and will be more than happy to assist students willing to improve upon their studies. All the best and have a good day !
