1. How many of us are trudging through the "wait" period together in Canada, with your partner on a Visitor Pass?

My husband was - but not anymore since he has landed. (In addition to the time he spent here while the PR application was being processed, he was also here on and off as a visitor for most of the previous three years.)

I also wouldn't call it trudging. :) Some things were definitely a pain. But overall it wasn't that bad. (I know this isn't everyone's experience and consider ourselves very luck.)

:) My meaning behind "trudging" isn't as dark as it appears. ;D I should have phrased it much lighter. Waiting for a landed status is much easier when living with your partner. ;) I'm currently not living with mine and occasionally the unknowing gets to me. 8)

I am in Canada. Been here on and off, mostly on, for 4 years now! Longest time apart was 3 and a half months and it was horrible!

My husband did not qualify for a TRV..we haven't seen each other in 312 days. :(

I go CRAZY during "that" time. LOL

My husband has been here since February 3, 2009 - first on a visitor visa, then 2 one year long work visas (working for me). I hope his PR gets approved before August when the 2nd one runs out!! Not sure what our plans will be then if it isn't approved ???

It definitely makes it MUCH easier to have your spouse with you though, whether on a visitors visa, work visa or whatever!!! I really feel bad for the couples who are separated for so long while waiting.

I have been in Canada for 2.5 years on a Visitor Visa. My first was 6 months given to me at the airport, then I submitted for a 6 month extension, then I did a flag pole and the IO gave me an additional year, then I tried the flag-pole again and got another 3 months, then I submitted for an extension for an additional year... A lot of work but so worth it, just being able to be with my common-law wife and our NOW 2 children. She gave birth to our newest son on Sunday (FEB 13th). It has been difficult to make the transition from San Diego to COLD, but my family makes it all worth it!

j2m - I'm moving from Orange County to Vancouver. Which part of Canada are you in?

We're 'trudging' through it together but not in Canada - we're waiting it out in his country.

(We had a good laugh the other day that after organizing and submitting his PR application for Canada, mine - which we have to renew every year - seems like a joke. I'm no longer allowed to complain about the process of renewing my PR)

I'm here as well! Have been since oct2009. Went to Mexico with hubby last spring for 4months and game back and they gave 6months again. Now waiting the extension.

Somedays are harder than others, since I cant work. But it's worth of it anyway. Can stay with my hubby, when he dont have to travel for work(cant wait to join him, when i get my pr. dont wanna take risk now, coming and going).

Good luck to all of us!!! :P
