Hi,

I have stayed in dubai 13 years before 18 years old. but stayed 179 days (not continuous )after 18 years old.

Do i need to take police verification for 179 days stay? I am totally confused.

Thanks
Shyama

If I were you, I would get the Police Certificate!

"if you visited, worked or lived in a country for two months, left for a few years, then returned for four months, that counts as spending six months there. In this case, you would need a certificate." - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

This is a tough one, technically you're on the clear by one day (if you count 30 days per month).

Up to you I guess.

Cheers ;)

cleared by a day or week, I would say it is easy so don't bother risking for one such certificate. It is cheap on time as well as money .. almost 50 US$ .. It is quick and easy so go ahead and apply. You can get in English language so you don't have to bother about getting it translated.

i would not risk it. Get it done. There is very high chance that they will ask for it anyway.

Thanks All ... I will try to get it .. But when I check in net somewhere mentioned emirates ID for applying Police certificate ,But i dont have.

just use a copy of the old emirates ID when you apply... you should have a scan copy somewhere right ?

No i dont have emirates ID , i stayed there before 18 years old ,that time no emirates ID and after that i went using visiting visa.

yeah that might be a problem then...
for visit visa you dont need PCC obviously, anyway to cover all bases this is what i would do

1 - submit application without PCC for now (incase you are running out of time)
2 - simultaneously, try getting PCC for UAE without Emirates ID... i read somewhere on the forum that a guy had to goto UAE physically to get PCC if he didnt have emirates ID (i cant validate this however)
3 - worst comes to worst - be preparted to take a short trip to UAE to get this sorted.

let us know how things work out - it might help others as well.

He can try to contact UAE Embassy as well. Maybe he can get that certificate there.
But if the certificate does require finger prints then it is problematic.

i got this reply from a different forumm... thanks to sushsmart18

""UAE PCC
You have 3 options:
i. Visit UAE personally and obtain PCC in 1 or 2 days.
ii. Ask you friend or relative in UAE to apply for UAE PCC on your behalf and submit all the required documents.
iii. Avail the service of an agent to obtain UAE PCC.

Steps to follow:
1. Obtain the UAE Form online and print it out, fill it.
2. Obtain your fingerprints on a fingerprint card from your nearest police station.
3. Get this fingerprint card attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (India)and also by the UAE Embassy in India.
4. Send the relevant documents (Copies of UAE Visa, Emirates ID, Passport, etc.) to UAE and obtain the PCC from Ministry of Interior, UAE.

If you have already received ITA, then certainly your best option is to go via an agent. The agent should charge you around 30k to 35k INR. Agent should do the attestation part for you as well since it has to be done from New Delhi.
One such agent is "Genius Group". I obtained my UAE PCC through them when I was in some different country last year. They handed over the UAE PCC to me within 15 days. You pay the money only after you obtain the UAE PCC. Looks like they have a branch in Bangalore also.
