police/ criminal record check

sorry if this has been asked before, but I lived in the Turks and Caicos Islands before I moved to Canada, I have applied the Inland route. I got a police check from the T and C ( Dec 09) and since then haven't been back. All my paperwork and medicals are due to run out at the end of November, would I need to supply another police check, even though I haven't been back there? Its just that it takes soooo long for them to do anything, last time it took 3 months, I just want to be prepared.

Security check is done by Canadian intelligence and security agencies, with or without cooperation of proper authorities in countries you lived/stayed in, and it is done completely independently from CIC.Criminal check looks into your police certificates and verifies with relevant countries to see if you have a criminal record. The response or feed back from the concerned Agencies in T and C may possibly be very slow and therefore so much time is taken for the process.
