Did you tell CIC that you lived in New Jersey or how did they come about asking you for PCC fro Jersey? Any if the granted you only 40 days that means as soon you provide it you might get your Passport Request

i lived in nj for almost 8 years , this information was already provided by me in the original application they already knew about jersey so they did not asked about the police clearance report from nj from the begining??????

The rule changed in end of January or February 2009 so that all applicant also need to provide a State PCC if they lived for 6 months or more as well the FBI report and it looks like this rule was applied to you, you can send them a cover letter asking for more (reasonable) time.

In the meantime, contact NJ state police or check the CIC website for NJ PCC and expedite it, don't worry you still have time to do it if you act fast. I don't think they will ask anything else next as they would have asked you now, I think this is the last piece of the puzzle.

CIC seems to be quite confusing and unpredictable in its demands.
As per the old rules, I submitted FBI Clearance in Nov 2008 and now they are asking for State Certificate. Is it then that that they are applying this rule to all those cases which are yet to be finalized, regardless of when the application was submitted?

Correct! Its regardless of when you submitted the application, the new rules will be applicable to all pending cases and that is the reason they are asking for it.

Hi palomo.aca

I also had same situation wherein i submitted FBI and later they asked for NJ PCC and gave me 40 days. I mention that now i am in india.
However i could find that they will ask for NJ PCC and got my fingerprint card ready and as soon as i got request i sent it to NJ and got my PCC just 4 days before the timeline of 40 days

I would suggest u to get going and obtain NJ PCC and submit. After 1 month of my submission, i got request for passport and RPRF

Let me share one thing.. when i was not sure of getting NJ PCC on time, I sent Email to CHC-Delhi explaining my case and saying that it may take some more time to get PCC. and believe me they gave extented period of further 15 days to submit PCC. ( however i got PCC on time and submitted on time), but this information may be useful to you for getting extension if u do not get NJ PCC in 40 days

Hi Palomo, looks like you are getting to the end of your journey.

If I can still add to what others have suggested here, you would perhaps want to courier your fingerprints to NJ and also enclose a prepaid courier envelope for them to use in returning your clearance. I've done this with my Maryland PCC when I had very little time left to get a PCC and it worked. Just make sure you ask them to use your prepaid courier envelope and give them explanation why you are in a rush.

Courier may cost but it saves you the trouble of tracking your fingerprint set. Also, see if NJ police clearance unit has customer service unit (Maryland has it) and ask your questions i.e. how fast they process, will they agree to send you back clearance using your prepaid courier envelope, etc.

i got the nj PCC back , before i got it back i call nj police 3 times i know every time that i call asking for information about the PCC it was the same person with a real bad attitude.
*the first time after 12 days of summitting my application according to this lady they did not have any information about me . before we hang up she told me it was being process.
*2nd time after 3 days of first call lady told me that it was going to take more than the 5-10 days that it ussually takes to do a PCC.c
*3rd call told they did not care about my deadline of 40 days , that they were 40% down of employees.
finally got it back but with an ERROR. i'm original from Mexico i got two last names to my name on my nj PCC they put my two last names together. example GARCIAGARCIA (GARCIA GARCIA) i will call them to try to resolve this. on the mean time i already send the PCC to my lawyer for summition .

Same with my case, i\ve been asked for a fresh PCC from pakistan, but i have been given 60 days to do this.

I already sent them a PCC from Pak which i obtained right before leaving pakistan, but they need a new one.

But the strange thing is that they will take 2 months to review the PCC again or what?? If i send in the PCC in the next week they will respond after 2 months??

Kind regards,

Alice

Do they confirm the FBI or PCR by their own during their background checks or they just rely on the ones those you send just confusing because thats a wastage of time and making the process long please comment
