I am applying for live in caregiver in Canada. I went to Singapore on September 28, 2012 and on November 2012 I was able to get a temporary training pass for 3 months. My pass ended February 2013. On March 15, 2013 I went to Malaysia for tour and go back again to Singapore March 16, 2013. And finally departed Singapore on March 30, 2013. I would like to ask if I still need to get a police clearance from Singapore? Because according to the Canadian website a police clearance is needed if u stayed for 6 months or more in any foreign
country.

With regards to this I would like to ask if they will count the six months from september 28 2012 to March 15,2013 or they will consider my reentry in Singapore fRom March 16 to March 30 2013? Im confused if I still need a police cleance since I havent consume the 6 months stay form September28,2012-march13, 2013. Thank you

Yup you do need police clearances from countries u have lived for more than six months. Kindly take note that Singapore Police Force wont allow you to apply for police clearance if u dont have endorsement from the embassy. U would need to present the application for police clearance issued by the Embassy. As far as my calculation, you didnt even live here for more than six months so I think they shouldnt require u to provide.

Are u applying by mail or online?

On my case I think they have based the calculations from my resume. I would say some embassies are quite random. I was in the Maldives for a year but they never required me to provide one.

Thanks for ur reply actually I already have my speak trst notice and metical and im on the process of completing all the requirrd documents and one requirements is police cetificate. Same with my calculation I havent reach six months because I went to Malaysia and back again to Singapore because my ticket is departing on Singapore to Philipines. Im qyite confused if they will count the days I reenter singapore from malaysia

If ur sending ur passport together with ur application, pretty sure they will see the immigration stamps on ur passport which would show u didnt live here for 6 months. Unless otherwise ur enclosing a new passport then I suggest u outline the dates when u wer un SG clearly on ur resume.

Good luck and hope that helps.GODBLESSU

As per my knowledge; I think you can go ahead with the docs u hv prepared so far. If at all Police clearance is required; visa office will never reject your application directly, instead they will ask you to submit it as an extra required document & you will be given sufficient time to prepare the same.

All the very best...

thank you. can anyone know how to get police clearance in singapore just in case the canadian embassy would required?

Did you work in the Maldives?

I am finding it hard to get a Police clearance certificate from the Maldives for my Wife who is in india.

Their office isnt co-operating, they keep saying someone needs to go there to collect the papers which is not possible.

Did you find a way around not submitting the police clearance for the maldives?

They did request for it when i applied for permanent residence. So i did the requisition online, filled ip the forms and I got one of my friends to collect it. So he took it on my behalf and sent it to me by email.
