Hi All,

If someone can please advise on their experience or if you know the best course of action - I lived in Israel 6 years ago on a visitor visa for 18 months, and undertook volunteer work. I am an australian resident and as part of my temp work holiday visa to canada I need a police clearance from every country I have resided in since the age of 18, which includes Israel.

The israeli embassy has advised it takes 8-12 weeks for a police clearance to go through, but through MyCIC I only have until 31st May 2013 (less then 8 weeks) to submit this last piece of documentation. All other aspects of my visa I have fulfilled. My question is, can I just write a letter of explanation (which was what advised in the letter advising of this final requirement) stating that its gonig to take longer to get this clearance for a country i lived in 6 years ago then the window of time theyve given me to submit it?
I am quite nervous that this one documentation and the embassy's inabilty to respond in due course will have my visa application rejected all together, even though I have successfully fulfilled all other aspects of the visa.
At this point I am hoping to just provide a letter of explanation however I am worried this will hinder me from obtaining the visa altogether.

Your advise on how to proceed is much appreciated.
