When I came to Canada 3 years ago, I was 17 years and 4 months old. I have never been to India ever since I came to canada until now.
do I still need to get PCC . IF YES , PLEASE GUIDE ME WHERE CAN i GET ALL THE INFORMATION RELATED TO PCC .
I mean Like where can I find information on PCC like , where to get it from and how do I get it ?

Thank you very much in advance :)

They only request police certificates for countries in which you've lived for 6 months or longer since you have turned 18.

Information about how to obtain PCCs is on the CIC website. From the main page choose "My Application" and then pick "Get medical or police checks" and follow it from there.

According to the instructions, you would not have to supply any PCC. However, in practice, in cases like yours where you came to Canada before the age of 18, they will often request the PCC from your home country anyway. I would suggest applying for it "just in case," since it will take time to get.

Funny how they generally seem to do that, isn't it (I've noticed it as well.)

Because if you are now over 18 CIC is not going to be bothered having you demonstrate to them that you never returned to your country of origin. It is simpler to ask for a PCC.

Right - so it's not a legal requirement, it's merely an activity for their convenience.

Nope not a legal requirement (some citizens require PCC from the age of 16 though) The OP if s/he wanted could write to CIC include all passport, CBSA reports that s/he hasn't left Canada since turning 18, wait for their reply, which will take a while, or get the PCC which would probably be faster.

Oh, I agree it makes sense, though your description of "faster" than getting a PCC did make me chuckle. I'd just seen people say CIC asked for the PCC but this is the first time I've seen a rational explanation for why they do it.

Thanks for the insight - it is useful.
