Hi all, I believe this has been asked before but I can't find the answer..

I am currently in procress of applying for PR, and have requested for police checks from USA. I currently live in Canada.
Im planning to submit my application, then travel. The problem is I will be travelling to USA and Jordan as well (which will make it 6 months). Im wondering if the day I submit my application, the police checks will be "locked in" and I wont need to update them? Or will I need to come back to canada and process them again...?

Hi there,

Once you submit your application they will judge it by the paper work provided within that application. Although security check is always ongoing during the process, they might ask for an updated paper. This being said USA + Jordan = 6 months is very different than living separately in those countries for 6 month each. So I doubt that you will need to obtain another round of certificates.

Stick around for more replies from seniors,

All the best,

You have to submit the PCCs with your application.

It is possible (though unlikely) they could ask you to update your PCCs later. But you don't have to worry about that unless IRCC asks you to do that.

Ok Thanks! Yes, I was just a bit confused if it matters that I am visiting both of those countries after the date of recieving my police checks.. Since it says to obtain them AFTER ever living their (but visiting is ok i am hoping!)
