my police certificates were translated and certified by notary but he returned them to me stapled. He basically stapled the original to the translated copy. I know that CIC says not to staple anything, but do you think it's ok to leave them like that? thanks

If CIC advises against staples, you should not use staples. Take them out with a staple remover and use a paperclip instead.

I personally didn't remove the staples in my translated sets because they are a notarized set and should have a cross-page stamp. CIC doesn't like unnecessary staples, but I wouldn't recommend altering any official documents.

that's why I thought to leave them, because it's an official document stapled together
