Hello,

I have applied for Study visa for Canada. Now I am asked to provide Police Certificate from Switzerland and USA, as I was living there. However, I am not in any of this countries at the moment. How can I obtain and present Police Clearance in this situation? Will my inability to provide this documents will cause my study visa to be refused?
Please reply soon.
Thank you very much in advance.

if you are unable to give PCC then your visa refusal chances are high. You can get the procedure of getting PCC in cic.gc.ca and search for police certificates and select the country you want.

Thank you dipta, your advice helped.
Well I'm about to apply online for the Swiss PCC, for the US is going to be very difficult. No online application crevice is available and I need to be taken finger prints, which means I need to be in US, plus processing time takes 16 to 18 weeks. I don't have such time, the CIC requires the documents by August 8. Il call the US embassy and see what they will advice me to do.
Thank you again.

hey sofia. in terms of the FBI certificate from the US it takes anywhere from 5-8 weeks. also you don't have to physically be present in the usa to apply for the certificate. you simply need to retrieve a set of fingerprints from your local police station, preferably two just in case they are unable to read the first set, fill out the relevant paperwork and send your application via mail or courier service.
