Police Certificate - What does it mean?

Hi,
After submitting my request to a student visa I received a request after two weeks for a police certificate. I wonder if it has some indication to my chances of being approved for a visa. Any idea?

yes your application has been reviewd you stand chance to get approval. make sure you submit the police clearance as quick as you can , if you have no criminal records , you will get visa once they received it

Yes they have reviewd the file and seems everything else is ok. I got the same request in OCt 2014 and then one/two days later got request for my medical. My application was eventually approved.
