Hi, I have been working in US for over 10 years now and grew up in India before that. My spouse too grew up in India and has been in US for around 5 years. Strangely, after I received my ITA and completed the online profile, I was required to get only a police certificate from US. My wife has been asked to furnish a certificate from the US Police authorities and the Indian embassy for a Indian police certificate. We are both Indian citizens.

I wonder if I incorrect answered some questions. Has anyone had a similar experience. I still plan to get a police certificate for myself from Indian embassy.

If you have not lived in India in the last ten years, then you don’t need Indian PCC to submit your eAPR. But I would recommend to get one even if you don’t submit, that way you will have the PCC in case IRCC asks for it during later stages of your application.
