Hi,

I am an Indian Citizen. I stayed in US for a year in 2009-10. I want to apply for Canadian PR now. While going through the guidelines I found out that I have to obtain a police clearance certificate from all those counteries where I have spent more than 6 months continuously.
Right now I am in India and I want to obtain a police certificate for my stay in US.
I have the following queries if someone can help :

1) Is it possible to obtain a police certificate at this stage now?

2) What is the procedure?

3) Will the US embassy in New Delhi be of any help?

Waiting for your replies guys,

Thanks,

Jagga Daku

Yes you can.

Get finger printed in India and mail scans to the FBI head office in Washington DC, USA. Once done, they will mail them back to you
3) Will the US embassy in New Delhi be of any help?
I do not think so. This is like personal staff but you may give them a call and explain your circumstances
Waiting for your replies guys,

Thanks,

It's better to do it using a machine/computer finger print scanner rather than doing it manually. It will save you time.

You need to send finger print card. You better done it through expert. Even our government has that facility but you know the indian system. They will take more than one month. And yes FBI require $18 money order also. I am having the same case like you. As I am living in gujarat the governement finger print office is in Gandhinagar. Plus you need to download the form which is available at FBI web site. Fill up that form with money order and finger print card.

Hi,

May I know who are these finger print experts? Are they government officials or some private agents?
Does anybody know about any of them in New Delhi ?

Thanks

Hi @ Toshiba 77,

I enquired from jk consultancy in Delhi and they charge 3400 Rs to record a persons fingerprint. Is that okay??
I feel they are overcharging for just taking your fingerprints.

thanks

Believe me 3400 is not a big deal. My time that guy asked for Rs. 9,000. You can try government office in Delhi. My point is if FBI won't find your finger print proper way they will send it back. That's why I advise you to go to the expert. And yes FBI will take 3 weeks to produce Police clearance certi. If you have time then search for finger print bureau in Delhi.

I still feel that 3400 is too much for recording fingerprints. I have a few friends who have done MD Forensic medicine so I am asking them for help now. I will most likely get it done from Delhi police Finger Print Bureau.
Will let other guys know of the cheaper and may be even better options other than JK Consultancy once I am done with it.
I sincerely request u guys to keep JKC as the last option.
Thanks
