Hi all,

Have a question related to the police check for the country lived in the past.

I live in Australia for most of the time in the past 10 years and still here. I spent 7 month consecutively in Singapore from January 2014 to July 2014.

I had a police check from Singapore dated April 2019. After April 2019, I visited Singapore twice, but only stayed there for around one week.

My question is will the police check from Singapore still valid under IRCC's rule?

I guess it's okay, coz i read the following:

For any other country
For any other country, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you stayed there for 6 months or more in a row.

Some countries put expiry dates on their police certificates. If you have a police certificate that expired, include it. We’ll accept it if:

  • it was issued after the last time you stayed there for 6 months or more in a row
  • it is not for the country where you currently live
An officer may ask for a new one later on.

Many people in this forum said you need to get a new one after you left that country. This makes me nervous because I had two short trips to Singapore after the police check has been issued. Can someone please confirm?

Thanks.

you are fine.... just submit the old PCC and mention those two brief visits in Travel History

Technically you only have to get another/ updated COC (Certificate of Clearance) if you stayed in Singapore for more than 6 months after April 2019 which you dint

Hi,

Is your PR application submitted ? Is it accepted ?

I am in the same boat, just that my residing country is USA more than 2 years and I visited India for 2 weeks after I applied my PCC from Indian Consulate. I am confused too and after reading several posts, I notice that I have to apply for a new PCC at Indian consulate..

Can you confirm what you did ? and did you apply a new one? My deadline is approaching

Thanks
Neha

Hi Neha,

I lodged my application without reapplying police certificate. It’s still in process so I can’t give you an answer.

Thanks for the response.

According to CIC it says, "if you stayed in a country for 6 months or more in a row", a PCC will be required, based on this statement I'll submit my application. However I hope they don't come up with a query or rejection of PR application.

i wouldn't believe they will reject the application given what you quoted above.

The worst scenario is they will ask you to provide additional document.
