Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me on this.
I'm going to apply through Express Entry this year and I'm gathering all my documents.
Only one thing that stuck now, it's the Police Certificate from my country.

Do I need a police certificate for my express entry profile? Or do I need it when I get the Invitation to Apply?
Because police cert from my home country is only valid for 6 months, if I need it now for the profile, i have to go back home and if get the ITA, that for sure already past 6 months and I have to go back again, it's a waste of time, money and energy for the travel.

Please if anybody can shed a light for me on this.

Thanks.

You don't need PCC to create EE profile. You should preferably get it after ITA. Post ITA, you will get 60 days to arrange all docs.

Hello,

I read somewhere that Police certificate should be got from all countries where one has lived/worked. I worked in Switzerland for more than 2 years, 12 years ago. Should I get the Police certificate from Switzerland? I do plan to show that as foreign work experience. Any info is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Whether you show it as a foreign work experience or not if you have lived in a country for more than 6 months after you turned 18 you need the PCC from that country dated after the last day you lived in that country for past countries and less than 6 months old (at the time of eAPR application) from the current country.

Thanks CanadaWeCome, Appreciate it. I went there in my early twenties and returned 14 years ago. So, I guess I will not need the PCC. Please confirm.

Incorrect. You need PCC for all countries where you have lived for 6 months or more in a row since turning 18.

You'll need PCC from Switzerland.

Sorry, I messed the logic...I meant 'whichever is earlier'.

Btw, you can order the PCC from Switzerland online. Here: https://www.bj.admin.ch/bj/en/home/publiservice/service/strafregister.html
You can also indicate what country it is for (Canada).
Also, it's German, French, Italian and English by default (all at once), so you don't have to worry about getting a translation.

Have a query on PCC from India.

I am planning to get the PCC from Passport office (Ministry of External affairs), pls let me know if this will suffice or should I get a PCC from the District commissioner office as well..,

You can do this thru eSeva(PSK online) using the link passportindia.gov.in / AppOnlineProject / user / userLogin. The process is just like getting passport. Fill in the details, pay, book an apppointment and show up in the PSK office. And you get the certificate then and there

You need it when you get the ITA. But if you are living in Canada now, if you get the PCC now, the validity is indefinite (regardless of what your country says). CIC's requirement is only that it be issued AFTER the last time you lived in the country.
